Hehehe. I guess we can guess what your favorite group is!

Here's a nice long, juicy comment for you. I love to talk, so feel free to respond!

In all fairness, I am relatively new to the SG scene, so I'm not familiar with all the groups on these lists. Still, here would be my picks with the knowledge I have so far:

Favorite Artist: My favorite artists would be Signature Sound and the Collingsworth family, but they're not in the top five. So far, I'm really digging the Booth Bros., so I'd have to go with them til I investigate the others more closely.

Traditional Quartet: Would have to be a toss-up between Legacy Five and Sig Sound. I think the Sig Sound members are individually more talented, but I really like Legacy Five's sound. Scott Fowler rocks (am I the only one who thinks he's criminally underrated?)and Gus is the best tenor they've had yet!

Mixed group: Well, to me there's no contest. It's gotta be the Collingsworth family!

Trio: I think the Booth Bros. have a lock on this one.

Soloist: Charlotte Ritchie has a gorgeous voice, but I haven't heard her stuff yet, so for now I might go with Guy Penrod. Though his solo album somehow left me wanting a bit more…hard to put my finger on it, but it just wasn't quite the Guy I know. Still, I personally prefer his style to Jason Crabb's.

Male singer: Hmmmm…one of the Booth Bros.? LOL! Probably Ronnie. His Elvis tribute album sounds great!

Female singer: Dunno. More into the guys than the ladies, but I might check out Taranda since you picked her.

Horizon individual: Okay, enlighten me. What exactly does the "horizon" in "horizon awards" mean? Does it mean an up-and-coming singer? My pick would be Gus, for sure!

Horizon group: I really like the Ball Brothers but haven't given a close listen to their most recent stuff.

Young artist: Brooklyn Collingsworth, love her voice!

Tenor: Well…Ernie's the best and always has been (IMHO). I don't get why some people hate his voice so much. It's a beautiful voice, and best of all, it's WELL-ROUNDED. No squealing. Full, substantial tone. I really like that in a tenor. Now, of course, David is also hugely talented, but there's style to be considered too. David's style just isn't my cup of tea, so that's why I prefer Ernie.

Lead: Scott or Ronnie, Scott or Ronnie…I'm gonna have to go with Scott. I just love his voice.

Baritone: Doug Anderson is the best, but Jim Brady is very, very good as well. Tough pick. Sticking with Doug, though. He's gotta be the most versatile baritone in the biz.

Bass: Give it up, Timmy Duncan! I know this is heresy, but I think Timmy may even surpass the great George Younce himself. George was really good, but Timmy is better at blending. His voice doesn't stick out as much. It's smoother and easier on the ear. That's the sign of a really great bass–someone who can *sing* and not just growl (mind you, George could sing too, in fact I think he sounded better in his upper register, but Timmy can maintain that smoothness even in the lower register).

Soprano: Well…Sonya Isaacs has my heart. She's awesome!

Alto: Dunno. Will have to do my homework on these ladies.

Musician: Great nominations. I think Kim, Gordon, and Tim would all be great picks. I can't decide. Ahhhh! Okay, I'll go with…Tim!

Songwriter: Didn't know Joseph wrote! Really like some of Gerald Crabb's stuff though. Gonna hold off on this category til I find out more about the writers.

Album: Haven't heard any of these albums! But the Jubilee project looks awesome–great artists. Should check it out.

Song: So far, I'm plumping for "When They Found Nothing." Great stuff.

Hmmm, maybe I should just start a blog of my own?
