Can it be?!?!?
Legacy Five is actually starting to update their website!
I’m definitely excited; new pics, new links to the new releases (no working music links yet, though). Looking forward to future developments…

Come, all ye forum-goers, to what Daniel Mount calls “the biggest can of worms ever opened” on this particular forum! It could get ugly!
The question: how do you feel about AVFL, better known as Averyfineline.
My answer: I love it. Avery tells it like it is about everything, no matter how brutal the truth is or how the SG community will react. I guess you could say that he ain’t afraid to be politically incorrect.
Now, I realize many won’t share my point of view, but I’m here to tell you that I support Avery’s site 110%.
Blog on, DH, blog on…
Well, in some capacity, anyway.
According to many sources of “Gene Sightings”, he is the bus driver/product table manager for Gordon Mote. Guess that bus driving job is a pretty good gig, considering that this will, inadvertently, put him in the Gaither circuit. We can only hope that he’ll join in that Homecoming choir, or maybe another quartet….
Ah, what could be….
According to fellow blogger Daniel Mount, Triumphant will start traveling fulltime starting in January.
I must say, I agree with DM on this one; what will happen to the lineup? Full-time travel for a group used to spending most of their time in one location can end up in members leaving.
We shall see…
Well, with school starting back up, me becoming a freshman, orientation, shopping and the like have kept me from blogging these past few days, so let me get a rundown of these news items I’ve missed.
1. Burman Porter is leaving Palmetto State? Here’s hoping the rumour is untrue, but back problems can have a hand in taking talent off the road (Gene McDonald, anyone?)
2. Roy Webb’s father passed away a couple of days ago. I actually knew this but didn’t blog it. Nice to see that EHSSQ sent out a newsletter about it. Hmm… maybe this will stop the rumour mill about Webb’s departure… Please keep him and the family in your prayers.
3. The Dixie Echoes’ bus fire. Man, what a shock. Thankfully, the only thing lost was some merchandise…
And of course, we can’t forget to count down to NQC. By my watch, (or, rather, by Chuck Peters’ “Days till NQC” clock), it is 16 days.
I’m thrilled to be invited to this thing, since I’m only 14 and all. I’m already thinking about my answers to the all-important question: “What role should blogs play in SG.” See you all there!
Averyfineline brought this up, which was originally on another blog; does the GVB use stacks?
It’s not so obvious to the untrained ear, but I caught it on Home, which you can watch on the blog I linked to. Kinda sad, really, that a musical genius such as Gaither has to rely on stacks to perform concerts…
But I’ll take it farther and say that he uses full-fledged lip-synching. I refer to a concert review that I read in a paper some time ago (can’t remember where) in which the GVB was performing at the White House. They were “singing” (supposedly) and someone came on stage to make an announcement. Gaither gave the cut sign to whoever was running the sound and the sound guy didn’t cut it off right away. The GVB stopped singing and their voices went on.
Embarrassing, but one can hope they are actually singing now, or at least using stacks….
Someone mentioned this on the SN boards, and it got me thinking; what if some of those guys that left the road or formed solo careers decided to get back on the road and form a quartet consisting of fellow “left-the-roaders and solo career-ers”?
For example, I can easily see a quartet with Josh Feemster as lead, Josh Cobb as tenor, Chris West as bass, and possibly Tony Peace on baritone (man, this guy needs a quartet, IMHO) and Andrew Ishee on piano. This quartet would be awesome! I can already hear the voices!
Another possibility: Josh Garner-lead (he needs a job now, so…), Tony Peace-baritone, Allen Cox-tenor, Gene McDonald-bass, Andrew Ishee-piano.
I could go on all day with this, but I want to hear yall’s thoughts. Who would you put into a quartet of this nature?
From the latest L5 e-newsletter:
Please keep Glenn Dustin in your prayers as he goes in for surgery Tuesday morning at 7 am. He will undergo a laparoscopic surgical procedure called fundoplication to correct a severe acid reflux problem.
Glenn’s recovery time should be just a few days and he should be able to travel with the group by the weekend if everything goes according to plan. Thanks for your prayers and you can send well wishes by email to glenn@legacyfive.com or by mail to the L5 offices at 128 Holiday Ct., Ste. 109, Franklin, TN 37067
Just wanted to let everyone know to pray for Scott McDowell, pianist for Brian Free & Assurance. His mother passed away and he is currently at home but will be back on the road soon. He is only 20, and I can’t imagine losing my mom so young. Please keep him in your prayers.
